Many stitchers (I’m one of them) love Ehrman needlepoint kits. Although video portraits of their designers are not new to them, in the last several months they have added great new videos, running about ten minutes, that have artists talking about what inspires them
The three most recent include Alex Beattie talking about the many sources of inspiration for his creation series (you’ll actually see the room that inspired the wonderful sky in Day 4).
Janet Haigh talks about the many types of media that inspire her and how they affect her designs.
The newest one, Margaret Murton, talks about medieval tapestries and the countryside as her inspiration.
What I love about all of them is how much thought goes into the design and about how so many of them either stitch or think about the specific problems associated with translating a design to needlepoint. You’ll love them and you’ll learn so much.
