Erica Wilson’s life on Nantucket, where she had a home, shop, and needlework school, is the subject of this delightful short talk from the Nantucket Historical Society. It’s delightful in itself because you’ll see so many pictures of Erica’s lovely work.
There is another aspect that makes it great as well. The speaker is co-curator of an upcoming (this fall) virtual exhibit on her at Winterthur. The Delaware museum has an extensive collection of Erica’s work donated by her family. You’ll also learn that there is still an Erica Wilson shop on Nantucket, run by her daughter, There you can find needlepoint designed by Erica and others.
I’ll have a review of the exhibit once it has opened; the dates have not been announced.
