The long skinny rectangle of our Summer Stitch-along can be finished in a number of ways.
One way is to finish it as a loop key fob. To do this you will need key fob hardware, pictured below, and grosgrain ribbon the same width as the needlepoint.

To finish, cut the needlepoint 4 threads beyond the stitched area. Fold these down and sew the ribbon onto the back st the long edges.
Follow the instructions on the fob hardware to finish the ends and complete the fob.
Another way to finish the piece is as a frame or book weight. Book weights, if you have never used them, are used to hold your book open while you are reading. Both are finished the same way.
They are finished like pillows. The difference is the filling. Instead of stuffing, you’ll use something heavy and flexible. These can be BBs, pie weights, pennies, or even smooth rocks. Put your filling into a plastic bag to keep the needlepoint clean and the weight secure.
Sew up the end and you have your weight.
