Rittenhouse Needlepoint in Philadelphia is one of my favorite shops. They have a huge inventory of threads and canvases. Whenever I call the folks on the phone are always polite and efficient. Best of all they are very committed to expanding knowledge of needlepoint.
A big part of this is their expanding YouTube channel. It’s an eclectic mix but you’ll find some real gems. These include:
Thread Videos: Stephen, one of the shop’s owners, is doing a series of in-depth videos about different threads. You’ll learn the basics of each thread, and when to use it.
Finishing: The newest series, you’ll find time-lapse videos of how their finishing department finishes actual items.
The Basics: That’s my name for many short videos on basic needlepoint information from how to thread a needle to several ways to stitch Tent Stitch, including lots on both Continental and Basketweave.
Nicely filmed, you’ll find lots to love here.
