As stitchers we are so used to seeing color families and picking shades from them that we forget just how lovely a single family of colors can be when showcased by itself.
That’s why I love this pretty free chart from the blog Sew French. It’s a series of hearts stitched in each ciolor of asingle color family of floss.
It’s a whole stitch chart for Cross Stitch you can easily convert to needlepoint (1 square = 1 Tent Stitch). If you have more than five colors in your chosen family, add rows and columns to expand the chart but keep it square.
Stitch it on canvas or, for an easy finish, stitch it on evenweave cloth (1 square on the cloth = 1 intersection on canvas) and finish in an embroidery hoop.
This design is so pretty and so quick to do, you could make a whole rainbow!
