Several years ago, Tapestry Fair came up with a clever hack, a combination needle minder and threader. You can make one easily yourself.
You already use magnetic needle minders. Start with one of these that has a flat top.
Get some small Rare Earth magnets and metal needle threaders.
Check the magnet against the top of the needle minder. Use a permanent marker to mark the side that is attracted to the needleminder. This is key to making your new tool work.
Use ES6000 (a very strong glue), and glue the marked side of the magnet to one side of the threader right in the middle.
If you like, you can now decorate the top of the magnet with a ribbon rose, flat bead, button or rhinestone. Just be sure to keep them small.
When you want to use the threader, slide if off the needleminder (this works best with Rare Earth magnets).
An ingenious little tool!
