Because The Spring Needlepoint Show has been postponed because of virus-related concerns, many designers are announcing their new products online. This post is the first of several that will be covering the new products. Many shops are having specials on new products. Contact your LNS to learn more.
Accoutrement Designs has great new needleminders with either friendship or motivational sayings. Puffin has new minders in both regular and mini sizes. Rainbow Gallery is making a smaller size, 4.5″, of their colorful wood laying tools. The tools have a blunt metal tip. Fipperies, a new company, has taken over the Retromatic line. one of their new products is a lovely realistic butterfly tha is available as a needle minder, scissors fob, or thread keep.
HSN Designs has a two-sided shaped canvas for a glasses case available in two colors. New as well are backgammon boards in collegiate and professional team colors. They are also adding to their line of collegiate flags as requested. I just love JP Needlepoint’s new spring landscape canvas, “Gone Fishing.” The flower-filled landscape has a creek running through it with an egret on the banks. Voila has animal print clutches in several designs and colors. The canvases are 10×7 on 13 mesh. Charley Harper’s iconic seasonal cats join several other of his designs as 5″ rounds on 18 mesh.
Pippin has a new Dozens canvas, 12 Big Pots, with delightful Dutch ovens in bright colors (I wish my pots looked this good!). They also have a new canvas of nine stars, mostly in warm color on a cooling gray and blue background. A dog with his Frisbee is another delightful Pippin canvas. A new Fives has five fishing poles.
Kate Dickerson has added an extensive line of Judaic canvases. You can get 3-D dreidels, rainbow tallit bags, menorahs, and a lovely Tree of Life. She also has a wonderful new Advent calendar that is in the shape of a Christmas Tree to decorate with toys and ornaments. The tree is on 13 and the ornaments are on 18. Because the ornaments are on indivdual canvases, they make great to go projects. Another new design from Kate is a pink elephant on a cobalt-blue background. It comes in various sizes to fit many self-finishing items.
Painter’s Thread has released 10 pastel colors in Flower Thread. These are added to the original 30 colors available for this thread. Treenway Silks has added five new colors to their silk eyelash thread. They suggest fluffing the thread with the back of your needle. Sullivan has brougt out heavy-duty clear project bags with black tops an bottoms. They are available in four sizes.
Kangaroo Paw has a new series of rounds, Princess of Prep, that are 4″ in diameter. Renaissance has a new snowman canvas that features a crowd of snowmen having a reunion. Of course, it’s outside, so they are all bundled up in colorful sweaters, hats, and scarves. Renaissance also has a series of twelve colorful stocking cap canvases that are round ornaments. With threir bright colors, they are not your traditional designs. Painted Pony has added three new travel posters from Max & Oscar to their line. Get ones from Sydney, Hawaii, and Charleston in addition to the other great destinations.
Anne Fsher has extended her line of Provence-inspired canvases with a three bunnies pillow in pastel shades. She has as well a lovely 12″ square design of a Queen Angel Fish with a lovely contrsting chevron border. There is also a lovely 12″ square pillow featuring a lovely blue-and-white medallion Provencal print. Pointe 2 Point has new skinny cuffs. They look to be about 1/2″ wide and are available in several geometric patterns. Patricia Sone has added sleep masks and small hearts to her growing painted canvas line.
If you are a Cross Stitch fan, Pepperberry has made several of their designs available as charts. They have just released 13 new Halloween designs. The Meredith Collection has a new mini-sock with three sloths ready for Christmas. They have also added a new licensed artist, Ken Swinson. His initial canvases remind me of a moee modern and less Impressionistic version of Marc Chagall. Judi & Co has wonderful canvas of the Hebrew symbol for life full of the patterns of Venetian glass.
The Point of It All has a stunning new clutch purse. It’s in one piece with a lovely butterfly on the back. Jenny Henry designed it on 13-mesh canvas. They also have new canvases by Alice Vantrease including many candy canes on a blue background and a brightly-colored geometric. New designer Madeline Elizabeth has a series of canvases of retro cars including a Cadillac convertible, a classic Bug, and a VW van. Alice Peterson has a new canvas that is in the shape of a Christmas tree with a snowman inside. It’s a fresh way to present a traditional subject. They have allso added Springtime girls to this popular seies. Julia’s Needleworks has new tallit bags in geometric patterns with space for a monogram.
CBK has a lovely angel in red from Edie & Ginger to be a glorious two-sided tree topper. Also from CBK is a magnificent nutcracker stocking from Kooler Designs. It’s dramatoic on black with ribbon streamers in the background. Jean Smith has a new 14″ square of a plate of colorful peppers, along with a series of summer floral bouquets. Kelly Clatk hs a new series of patriotic birdhouses.
