Are you looking for a clever way to make a quick gift?
Look at these adorable mini embroidery hoops from Etsy seller dandylyne. This Australian makes miniature embroidery hoops in both circles and ovals. They range in size from 1″ to almost 2.5 inches.
if you look on her site, you’ll be thinking these can’t possibly be used for needlepoint. That’s not true but you will need to make some adjustments.
Regular needlepoint canvas is too thick to work here, so the ground needs to be changed to something thinner and lightweight.
Here are some ideas to try:
— waste canvas on a piece of fabric
— water soluable canvas on a piece of fabric
— counted cross stitch fabric
— garment canvas
— silk gauze
— linen
A good idea is to buy the hoops first then chart your design to fit. Test fit your design after you have stitched but before you have cut by placing the hoop around it. If needed add extra stitches to have the front look good.

Janet, do you think Congress Cloth would work with these, or is it still too thick?
Janet M Perry says
I’m not entirely sure. I do think it still might be too thick. If you try it and it works — let us know!
Keep stitching,
