There has been such an explosion of color ins metallics that we sometimes forget about gold and silver. Even more we really do forget about how many different shades of gold and silver are out there. This happened to me twice recently when I couldn’t pick two shades of gold for a project, I was numbed by the choices in my stash.
I began to realize this and started blending metallics more than a decade ago — now there are so man more. Happily the folks at Kreinik are coming to our aid. In a recent blog post they began to give use lists of their gold and silver threads by value.
With these lists you will be able to use metallics for needleblending or for seamless single strand blending.
Check out their post and then use it by learning more about shading in my predictable results lesson (contact me to buy).
P.S. Watch for an announcement of a metallic shading mini-class later this month.
