
Lots of designers have announced new canvases arriving soon or in the spring.
West Village Knit And Needle in NYC has a new exclusive series of five London pubs. They are the Churchill Arms, The Pelican, The Holly Bush, The Spaniard, and The Lamb & Flag. They also have an exclusive series of NYC coasters. Stitch Rock has four new Christmas stamps, all on 13 mesh. They will make great coasters at 4″ square. They also have new neeleminders to match several of their canvases.
Stitch Style has two new canvasesm a figure skate and a celebration champagne botlle. Both have stitch guides. Also new from the designer are a pair of Christmas tree canvases, five on each, designed to teach new stitches. From her licensed designer Ali Egan come a bunch of holiday foods, including 3-D Buche de Noel, chocolate and champagne boxes, and a wedge of Gruyere. There is also a delightful fondue pot.
Jenny Henry has a new bumblebee canvas added to her Mindfulness Collection. It’s on 13 mesh and is 10 inches square. Abgail Cecile has a new PDF pattern. It’s an inital inside a simple wreath. Julie Pishke is back designing. Her canvases will only be available at fifteen needlepoint shops across the country. DMC has intoduced a new thread, Eco Vita. It is a “100% organic, crewel wool embroidery thread that gets its rich colour palette entirely from natural dyes.” There are 60 colors, sold in 16m pull skeins. The dyes tend to give the colors slight variation.
A new set of teaching canvases, Mollie’s Trees comes from the South Carolina shop, Two’s Company, Each of the trees is designed to teach new stitches and comes with a stitch guide. The Meredith Collection has a new 5″ round with stylized Christmas trees on a magenta background. Jean Smith is coming out with a line of decorated vase canvases. The canvases are 12×16 on 13 mesh. My favorites are the Japanese vases.
Petei has come out with a collectible series of cowgirls (and a few cowbys) to celebrate her Western heritage. They will be premiering at the spring markets. Another of Painted Pony’s designers, Max & Oscar, will be bringing out 12 new travel designs this spring.-Rainbow Gallery has added 15 new colors of Glisten. Initial K Studio has a sweet floral heart design on pink canvas by its licensed artist Jacinda Boneau. The design is available on both 13 and 18 mesh. The company also has a colorful new stripes canvas.
Lindsay Brackeen, a licensed artist for Kate Dickerson, has a charming spring canvas of a lady in a blue shirt holding a bouquet. She also has a lovely design of a pink bouquet in A Chinese vase. Kate is also launching a blue-and-white version of her shells and coral crest. A cheeky canvas from Machel Somervillsays “this took foreve,” and has a background of colorfl dots.
Eye Candy has a lovely set of canvases with a cat in silhouette. It is available in 4 background colors. Another new Eye Candy canvas, Mod Cats, is a 50’s-inspired design with a black cat and overlapping colored rectangles. Judi & Co has a lovely new tallis bag canvas featuring a white dove and foliage on a rich blue background. Madeline Elizabeth has an adorable new canvas of a lion instar-studded rain boots.
Love mhb Studio has two new nutcrackers on 13 mesh. They are available as 6″ squares and 4″ rounds. The Rebel Stitcher has a new set of monstrous needleminders, iincluding Bigfoot and the Loch Nedd Monster. Accoutrement has new minders of Faberge eggs, available in four colors. Also from the company is a minder basedon Nancy Cucci’s Heart of Hearts. It’s available in four colors. Flamingo Toes Shop hasa charming needleminder of a Mason jar holding wildflowers.
