Do you have a bunch of smaller pieces of needlepoint, stitched or unstitched, that are united in color, theme, or style?
Why not take a hint from Melita’s creative finish for the sections from Bargello Techniques (an ANG correspondence course) and frame them in a ready-made collage frame?
These frames, usually used for framing many pictures, are widely available and come in many sizes and styles.
If you haven’t begun your stitching but have the canvases, buy your frame according to how many pieces you want to group together. Measure the size of each “window” in the collage (these may be written down for you on the packaging).
Follow the instructions in this blog post to make your needlepoint fit a ready-made frame.
Decide which piece will go where, mark the edges of the background and stitch away.
When finished, trim and pop them into the windows.
Do remember if you do this, to make your needlepoint fit the openings either the ones in the mat or the individual frames. Custom cutting mats with multiple holes can get very expensive.
