I think I’m running on empty today. Although, for various reasons, the remodelers only worked one day this week, that’s given an excuse to proceed with the sorting, culling, and storing of my office.
And that exhaust. We go through shelves of books and I have to decide about each one. If my son is helping me, it goes fast because he rarely questions a choice. If my DH is helping he looks at each non-needlepoint book and often comments. We have used up all the storage boxes, tons to saved Amazon boxes, and a bunch of the mailing boxes we bought.
My living room is covered with small things from the office. My family room now has a wall consisting of the new, massive, card catalog for storage, and all the boxes of books I’m keeping in several tall piles. Boxes of smaller things adorn the tops of all this. The hutch above my desk has six shelves, now all but two are empty.
And the new floor isn’t coming until mid-September!
Did I say I’m tired?
I think this is a Sunday where mindless stitching is called for. I have this Ehrman kit there. It should be perfect while I binge watch The Great British Bake Off.

So glad you are treating yourself to a relaxing stitch session! We are in the process of cleaning out the attic and 5 storage units as well as every closet and shifting 4 bedrooms around. Also, i’m giving up my gift and home decor business of 18 years so there is a lot to sift through there as well! Thank goodness we do not have construction going on. We’ve been there though and it is so difficult to live through. I wish i could help you; your son is awesome to just do what you ask!!!!
All my work has been going on for over a year; we make a lot of progress and then i just need a break. I haven’t stitched in 2 months now because i ‘m trying to wrap it up with all this work. And i think i am going to miss some finishing deadlines for Christmas gifts. But my goal in all of this was to free myself from other responsibilities so that I could do my needlepoint….which i LOVE and which you have helped me with so much!!!! I’ve learned a lot from you and am grateful! Hang in there….daylight is coming!
