About Janet M Perry
Janet Perry is the Internet's leading authority on needlepoint. She designs, teaches and writes, getting raves from her fans for her innovative techniques, extensive knowledge and generous teaching style. A leading writer of stitch guides, she blogs here and lives on an island in the northeast corner of the SF Bay with her family
I’ve not been able to get me hands on it, however, there was also an article in the AMA Journal several years ago about the benefits needlework has on lower your blood pressure and helping to maintain it at a healthy level.
We need to pass out copies of that article to those who say stitchers are lazy, spoiled, and selfish and that stitchery is worthless.
When we are feeling achy or stressed, staying active is a great solution. Whether it is cleaning/neatening a closet shelf, washing windows, going on an easy hike/walk working on a needlework project or helping a less able friend you’ll feel better. Overeating ,napping for hours on end or sitting back and telling yourself ‘Woe is me!” does not help.
