Madeline Elizabeth has new sayings in several colors. She also has a charming canvas of birch trees that’s simple and elegant. Other new canvases feature animals, including a striking monkey, and birds. Marianne Lynn is a new designer. She has several stunning floral eggs. She also has several seasonal retro pickup trucks. Each is in appropriate colors and has a seasonal load. For example, the Valentine’s truck has a tree with heart-shaped leaves.
New from Maggie Co is a quartet of patchwork pets with two cats and two dogs. They have bright colors and large areas that would be perfect for showing off stitches. Valerie Weberpal, a licensed artist, has a series of folk art canvases with titles such as “Keepers of the Pincushions” and “Where the Dogs Fly.” Another licensed artist, Fred Calleri, has a series of retro ladies, some in pin-up poses. Finally, there are more great animals from Terry Runyan.
Mile High Princess has a new series of witches. The designer has a new tree-topper angel. They have also created new stitch guides for several canvases. New from Mindy is her stunning floral alphabet series. The letters are large and are almost completely covered by beautiful, delicate flowers. If you are used to Mindy’s bright geometric canvases, this is a very different look. I would happily take one of these and just hang and frame it unstitched. The canvases are 9″ square.
Melissa Prince has new movie & TV coasters including four for Bridgerton. She also has a lovely new series of golden letters. Each canvas features an animal or plant that begins with that letter. They are simply lovely. There are also new breeds of dogs in hats and a new Mardi Gras Vespa girl. The lovely calligraphic peace banner is now available on 18 mesh.
A new canvas from Morgan Julia is frosted sugar cookies, showing the blue-frosted cookies in a clear box. Because I have bought these more than once I love this canvas. Not new, but immediately bought for my stash, is the bushel basket of crabs, complete with the requisite can of Old Bay. I’m adding it to my collection of crab ornaments. Other new canvases from the designer include an iconic 90’s paper cup (you’ve used them many times), a clambake steamer pot, and some new boats.
I talked about Mopsey, a new designer, in an earlier column, but I wanted to point out two more of her canvases. She has a canvas of a single ring pop, with the great name “How Many Carats?” It has a pixelated/Minecraft look. Another canvas in very bright mod colors features a dozen geometric patterns. At 7×9, you could easily put this into a ready-made frame.
NPJ Designs has a charming easy-to-stitch sampler for Christmas. Another new canvas has Love on a background of overlapping squares in colors that look like hard candy. Another sampler is for homes that celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah. It has presents, a tree, a menorah, and a Star of David. New fives by Pippin include kayaks and bears in trees. A new nine features blue-and-white dishes. Each of the five princesses is now available as individual figures.
Patti Mann has new canvases of turtles in several different sizes with great patterned shells. There is a new series of animal designs based on vintage stencils. These canvases feature areas of color as part of the design. She has an absolutely wonderful series of dressed roosters and chicks. Among others, you’ll find a hippie rooster, a biker chick in a leather jacket, and a stunning pair of an empress and emperor.
PLD Designs is now distributing Abigail Cecile. Her new ornament for Spring is a charming Holy Family, available in either blue-violet or blue-green. Rachel Donley has added several new letters from various states and cities. Her love letters are now available in two larger sizes. A great canvas is “Write in the Sand.” it’s a simple seashore that comes with an alphabet chart that you can use to write your own message in the sand. Tout le Monde has a new canvase featuring a marzipan pig. They have also added a holiday color versions of their popular Union Jack Wellies.
Voila has added a bevy of new ladies for their bags. Wipstitch is a new designer with a great collection of stamps for different holidays. My favorite is the one for Cinco de Mayo. They also have saying canvases in several colors as well as several Texas-themed canvases, including a Texas emoji. Lovely new canvases from Zecca include a gorgeous griffin in golds, a charming bee sampler, and three new brick covers.
