You may be in panic mode right now, wondering how you’ll finish everything before Christmas. Today I have several great ideas that you can probably finish in an evening. As long as you buy in-stock items, both canvas and finishing, these little gifts are great solutions to gift-giving woes.
I am stitching very slowly right now, and I can finish them.
To make your shopping more manageable, I’ve divided the suggestions into two parts, those that include the self-finishing item and those that do not. All are listed by company.
Finishing Item Inclued
Blue Dogwood Designs has the widest selection of charming small designs that can quickly be made into sachets, cards, and, just out, framed ornaments. Some of the sachets feature ribbon embroidery, so they make great initial projects for this technique. The company sells directly to you and ships quickly.
Pippin makes two kinds of kits, First titch and PDQ (Pretty Darn Quick). The 13-mesh kits have everything you need, including thread. All the kits also include a frame and matte. These designs are also in the regular canvas line, so you could also make your own kit.
Patricia Sone has the 2×2 Collection, including a 2″ square canvas with a matching frame. There are over 30 designs plus a complete set of single letters. The simple designs come nicely packaged in a clear package you can use to give the stitched designs.
Mindy also makes several 2″ square designs, Mindy minis, that are this size but do not come with frames.
Finishing Item, Buy Canvas Separately
Planet Earth has two small self-finishing items, perfect for creating last-minute gifts. Their popular key fobs hold canvases slightly over 1″ in diameter. Many companies make these inserts. The company also makes Bitty Boxes. These are ring boxes lined in the company’s black and white stripe.
NPJ now carries thePointe 2 Pointe self-finishing items. The company makes many `1″ square canvases, including schools, initials, and sports teams. They also have a wide variety of items to finish these. designs.
