Jean Hilton used to call her unusual stitches “string art” because they were inspired by the interlacings you get when lacing string between nails in a pattern (it was popular in the 60’s). The trusty kids toy, Spirograph let us create these kind of designs with pen and paper.
The blog, Stealth & Aces has come up with a clever project based on these mod icons — a spiral necklace.
It’s made using circles of plastic canvas and embroidery floss.
