The last stripe uses Tied Giant Oblong Cross, below. The crosses are tied with the same thread or a red thread. The two alternate.
Make the Cross Stitches first for a row. Next tie with a horizontal stitch every other cross. If needed park your thread (or use a second needle). Tie the remaining stitches
I used DMC matte cotton and Threadworx Legacy (now discontinued) for this stripe.
