I’m closing in on finishing my heart of hearts and hope to get it done today. I have to finish the center heart and some of the light green hearts.
To make the center heart stand out I’m stitching it in a different thread (Classic Colorwork Perle) and a different stitch. Triple Diagonal Parisian. All the other hearts are stitched in Basketweave.
To keep it from looking boring, I used a wide variety of threads:
-
Elegance for the dark pink
Panache for the light pink
Flair for the light green
Rainbow Persian for the dark green
Plus Nordic Gold and Skip Tent for the background.
One way to give needlepoint a modern look is to use a variety of threads. It will look less dull with the variety of textures and you’ll have more fun stitching it.
