This week our three alphabets are all capital letters. Although one is script, all are suitable for capitals or for words. The script one would make a lovely monogram.
Anne Orr Initials
This alphabet was designed to fit into a circle, above, to be an initial for the corner of a napkin. The blocky capital letters (9 stitches tall) are good for so much more than this. In the circle, they could sit in a patterned field behind the circle for a great personalized ornament. Without the circle, they could work for a name on a Christmas stocking.

Vine Alphabet
This alphabet is from a book published in France by Alexandre. It has small ornaments on many of the letters. I think of them as leaves, so I call this “Vine Alphabet.” If you want to make the ornaments more prominent, stitch them in a second color. It’s 13 stitches tall.

Script Alphabet
Taken from the same vintage French book, this alphabet is fairly typical of script capitals. Charted script letters can be hard to join, that’s why you often find them as individual letters. Being small (14 stitches high) it can work as a single initial or monogram on smaller items.
There is no J or W in this alphabet. This is often seen in older alphabets because those letters, along with U, are later additions to the latin alphabet.
