Treenway hand-dyes their lovely silks and ribbons in Colorado.
They make many different weights and types of silk yarn, ribbons in five widths, and some silk blend yarns. They also dye their yarns in a consistent color palette. Currently, there are hand-dyed colors, plus four special series of coordinated colors in several fibers. These are 65 Roses (benefitting Cystic Fibrosis, the Montano series, 74 colors designed with Judith Baker Montano, and the Gulf Island series with 17 colors, and Naturally Dye series in 17 colors.
Harmony is a six-strand silk floss.
Zen Shin is a 20/2 silk that’s similar to a silk pearl
Tranquility is a fine cord, similar to buttonhole twist.
Serenity is a reeled (shiny) between a #5 and #3 perle
The mask pictured here is stitched in several Treenway threads ad yarns.
There are several other silks that would work for needlepoint which I have not tried. Some of these include: , 20/2 bombyx silk, 8/2 bombyx silk (about equal to #3 pearl, 12/2 bombyx silk, a silk eyelash, and silk/wool blends in several weights, including a silk/yak blend.
