Are you looking for a different way to display your needlepoint, one that you can make easily yourself? Why not take a cue from the many lovely stand-up and easel-back finishes you see on the Web and make your own?
While I love finishing into ready-made frames, easels have two advantages. First, they don’t need wall space but only a flat surface for display. Second, they are not restricted to specific sizes.
This illustrated tutorial from The Copper Fox shows you how to do it using craft sticks and beads. You can customize your stand with all kinds of goodies as well.
The finished pieces in the article are all cross stitch but this finishing technique will work with any form of needlework as long as it is finished as a flat piece.

What a great idea! I’d not thought of this and I love it. I have a lot of artwork on my walls already so it’s tough to find space to hang my needlepoint. But this way, I can put them out a few at a time and rotate them. Thanks, Janet!
