Melissa Shirley’s licensed reproductions of Vicki Sawyer’s hat-wearing (and realistic) birds and animals have taken the needlepoint world by storm. Her combination of detailed and accurate creatures with whimsical hats made of natural materials has lit a spark.
I love how accurate they are, and I have greatly enjoyed the stitch guides I’ve written for them. They are so accurate you can identify every animal.
Recently she swas the subject of a long article at the blog nextavenue. You can read it here and enjoy more of her work on her own website. Her canvases can be found at Melissa Shirley’s site.

I seem to be having a terrible time getting a stitch guide for a Vicki Stewart canvas I have, “a few good friends”.
I tried the shop I bought it from and a few others. Any ideas how to get one?
