autism
When I stitch I often feel as if my projects and designs go out into the world on wings of hope. I don’t really know, most of the time, how they will be used or what comfort and joy they might bring. While many other needlearts have projects that are well-publicized and where we know the help they bring (think of prayer shawls and hats for premies for example), there are very few needlepoint-only projects of this kind.
That’s what makes this story from the Autism Network so special. It tells us about an autistic man who finds calmness in needlepoint, which he has done for many years.
His sister, knowing his love for needlepoint, designed a canvas just for him. She had it framed.

Hi Janet,
I wanted to introduce myself as I wrote the article about my special collaboration with my brother, Phillip. One of your followers, Marguerite Gould, sent me the link to your website. I was so happy to read your lovely introduction!
If you send me your email, I will share more of our collaborations.
Best wishes,
Lena
