The folks at BeStitched have uploaded a video showing you how to straighten your threads with a flat iron. I love this video because you’ll see several threads before, during, and after the process.
If you have avoided doing this, you’ll feel much more confident after watching this video,

I love seeing this…it has worked perfectly for me although I do not have a curling iron..I use my regular iron without steam only warm not hot. Have to be very careful about the temperature and not stretching the thread

This question was posted under the original video and remains unanswered. Can this be done to wool tapestry yarn without damaging it?

You might contact the folks at BeStitched in Phoenix (Scottsdale), they have lots of experience with this tip.
Keep stitching,
Janet

The small flat irons are very reasonable at Amazon. I think they would be safer to use than a regular curling curling iron. I love mine that I got from amazon.
