We are leaving on a short road trip this morning. We’re driving to Seattle and back, which means about 25+ hours in the car round trip. The prospect of all that unencumbered time is so tantalizing for stitching.
When I’m home I have a big basket of projects by my stitching chair so I can pick and choose the projects I do. Last week when the blog stuff was stressing me out, I stitched this from start to finish. There are also plenty of models, projects for the blog, and assorted things I want to try.
But when you go on a trip, you just can’t take everything.
So you have to pick and choose. That’s where my dilemma comes in. Should I just stitch on fun projects that I am doing just for me? Or should I stitch models?
My original thought was just to have fun. But then I was considering the pile of projects (6) I had packed plus the two I had decided not to take. Not one of them was work-related. Most of them hadn’t even been started.
But in my stash were several partially completed projects that were further along and less challenging. I ditched all but one of my original pile and put in the pile goodies I’ll be sharing with you soon.
But what makes me happiest is that we are stopping at Mindy’s in Eugene tomorrow and I’m getting supplies for one small canvas for the dyelot series and some of the threads needed for my upcoming Shaded Effects Mystery Cyberclass (more on this soon).
I am a happy camper, largely because I will not waste my car time. Now if only I could get more of the pile of books I have to read done!
