I realize that my family is unusual. With a mother who is an artist and a grandmother who was a seamstress I always got handmade gifts at Christmas. And I was always taught the value of them.
I passed this to my kids by giving them handmade ornaments every year, making their Christmas stockings, and having them make gifts and decorations when they were young. As a result, they all love handmade and art.
You may not be so lucky. You may have found that the folks who get your gists don’t appreciate them and may not even know what they are.
Jen from Funk & Weber has come up with a great idea on how to help folks appreciate your stitched gift. Read more about it in her recent post.
