It could be because we watch lots of 70’s game shows and sitcoms, but lately, I have been thinking about corduroy, the fabric, and of the many types that were popular then. One of my favorites was Uneve wale corduroy, which had alternating thick and thin areas of cut pile.
I’ve translated that into a stitch, below, that has unstitched single-thread lines that separate alternating columns of Diagonal Gobelin over one and three threads. To get a proper look for this stitch you need to have a clear distinction between thick and thin. My first try over two and three threads did not provide this.
I used Planet Earth 6-strand silk for the patch.
