Several companies have announced new items that will be appearing in your local shop soon.
Fire and Iris has a rustic Christmas tree to go with its rustic wreath. The canvas has only the trunk and branches on it; you’ll use their extensive written guide to bring it to life. It also has a video guide. The canvas is available as a kit or with the canvas alone. Stitch Style has added new colors to its collection of bows from Eleven Gables.
Hello Bargello has two new plastic cnvas kits, a round trinket try and a change purse. They are available as kits or as PDF patterns. Greystone Needlepoint, a shop in Eastern Pennsylvania, is taking orders for the Lee Joffa hollyhock pillow, featuring a saying “Home is where the hollyhock is,” in preppy colors on white. The exclusive canvas ships in January.
Jenny Henry has an adorable bookshop round, with the store ready for Christmas. It sells as a kit with threads and ornament round included. Le Point has added a Christmas toy shop to their Cheistmas village collection. It’s decorated for the holiday with nutcrackers stand guard and a teddy bear waving on the balcony. A stitch guide is available.
Penny Linn has added self-finishing bag straps from DogGrin to their line. Ruth Schmuff has added a new artist to its line, Lane Tree & Lily. “Leslie is a self taught artist, and has been a creative force for most of her life.” Her designs are whimswical and colorful, featuring long-legged animals. Mary Katherine celwebrates her family’s Christmas traditions with a canvas of blini with sour cream and caviar.
The Gingham Stitchery has come out with a Christmas version of their Staffordshired dogs. It joins a reindeer tooth (think houndstooth in red & green) in two sizes, and a transferware Judaic round. Stitch Style has four new Christmas canvases, all with stitch guides. The rounds include a store dressed for Christmas, a letter to Santa, and more.
Raymond Crawford has a charming new 8″ square canvas of cardinals on birch trees. It’s available on 18- or 13-mesh. JP NEeedlepoint has adorable kittens and jack o’lanterns canvases that will be out next year. Planet Earth has a wonderful gift idea — fob kits. The kits are complete with a leather fob and matching canvas. Threads, a needle, and a fabric project bag are in the kit also.
Threadworx has five new colors in both lines of silk. They also have five new colors in all sizes of Kreink and fivew new floss colors. These colors are all semi-solid. Lottie Needlepoint is a new Chicago-based designer. The sisters behind this label have mostly sayings, bu there are also canvases of Chicago icons in the line.
Island House makes a lovely metal laying tool. It’s turned, like a wooden tool, but it can be attached to a magnet. It has a ballpoint, so it won’t pierce ribbons. The designer is an engineer and stitcher. Finally, Needlepoint Now has two year-long projects announced for 2024. Many shops will be participating. Check out what your LNS is doing.
