Lately I’ve been thinking about really easy ways to create unique needlepoint. One of the easiestways to do this is to find things other than thread and stitches to add to your needlepoint.
One easy thing to add is buttons. They are cheap, they are plentiful and you can sew them on with your regular tapestry needles. But, all too often, you can’t find the right color.
That’s the thing that keeps me from looking for and using buttons more often in my stitching.
All is not lost. You can dye buttons with ordinary RIT dye. This blog post from Fiberluscious tells and shows you how.
Now where did I pt my button jar?

I’m sorry you disagree but having given up using buttons many times because I could not find the right color, size, and type, I’m really glad to know about this option.
Keep stitching,
