We’ll start the stitch-along with the background. There are two choices for background stitches, one for the ornament, pictured above, and one for the pillow. Although there is white as the pitels and stamens of the flowers, these cannot be stitched in either of the background stitches. Stitch them instead in Tent using your background thread.

Ornament Background
Stitch the ornament background in Windowpane, below, using one strand of white Persian Wool.
Pillow Background
Stitch the ornament background in Clementina, below, using one strand of white Persian Wool. This stitch is an offset version of a large Framed Scotch. You might want to switch to Tent between and around the letters.
