This week we finish up the flower with a Scotch Stitch variation.
You’ll use the lightest shade of floss for these petals. The direction of the stitch changes, so the two petals on the right are stitched in one direction and the two petals on the left in the opposite direction. This makes the direction of the stitch the same as the direction of the petals making it easier to stitch and reinforcing the design.
Stitch the two right petals in Souffle, below.
Stitch the two left petals in Reverse Souffle Stitch, below.
Although the diagrams are in two colors, make the stitch in one color of thread.
