While many of these products debuted last month at TNNA others are coming out at this month’s Nashville Market (mostly cross stitch), still others are not associated with shows and markets.
Canvases, Kits, and Charts
JP Needlepoint has a series of new kitty designs featuring Thumbellina, a black-and-white kitten. One of the designs in the series, with the kitten peeking out of a present, has a stitch guide from Rainbow Gallery. Their new thread, Glisten, is used three different ways in the guide.
Curtis Boehringer has anew Santa and angel featuring black and white checked robes. Love You More has licensed designs from the Evona Gallery by Ivona Staszewski. There is a stunning Saint Francis and Rosary Mary with more saints to come. Many others feature ladies in a folk art style. Sea Breeze is one of Wellesley Needlepoint’s licensed designers with canvases with a New England look. They have several new designs including a lobster shack, a front porch, and other country scenes..
Jean Smith has a simplified close-up of a flower that’s great for beginners. You can find it in three sizes and four colors. Silver Needle has added several new Paddington designs. A lovely romantic wedding design by Otto Aguilar has been added to Purple Palm’s line.
There are six new Mill Hill kits featuring polar bears designed by Debbie Mumm. Kangaroo Paws has new 5×7 sorority rectangles that feature the mascots. BB Needlepoint Designs has several lovely, simple round ornaments. If you know someone into Cross Stitch, several of Kelly Clark’s popular Santas are now available in kits for Cross Stitch.
Ashley Dillon-Davis has a new parade canvas with kids and barnyard animals. Labors of Love is now offering a custom painting service. They will paint any pet from a picture.
Threads and Embellishments
Lady Dot Creates is a company, new to me, that creates hand-dyed ribbons, mini pom-poms, and other trims. The mini pom-poms can be used with or without the banding running along one side. They look very tiny, so this may be an option for pom-pom trim on needlepoint projects.
Three of Kelly Clark’s new Ester Eggs feature thread kits available from Treenway Silks. The “65 Roses” colorway for these kits is a fundraiser for cystic fibrosis. Valdani has a new thread out, cotton twine. It comes in 325 meter balls. The colors coorinate with the rest of the line.
A new maker of scroll frames, The Splinter Shoppe, has the Rolaframe. It requires no basting or taping to get your project on the bars.The canvas stays put, giving you even tension. Pat Carson, formerly of Gloria & Pat, has designed a new needle. It’s 1.5″ long and is available in 24, 26, and 28. There are made by a family in Japan.
&more is now distributing Madeira floss. It comes in an unusual package that lets you pull out a stitching length while protecting the remainder of the skein, Weeks has four new colors: two greens, a rusty orange, and a light blue-violet.
