The blog Strings Away! has given us a lovely free windsock pattern available on their website. It’s easy to stitch using one sheet of plastic canvas and three colors of yarn.
The instructions call for 7-count canvas and Red Heart knitting yarn, but because the pattern is a geometric, there is no reason why you could not use 14-count plastic canvas and the threads you would use on 18-mesh canvas. Using this count would give you twice as many squares.
The post has complete finishing instructions as well.
Thanks to the folks at Craft Gossip for pointing this out!
