From Ziva Needlepoint, Scot’s Scotch takes its inspiration from the designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh & others in the Glasglow School. It’s an interpretation in different colors of a textile band woven by Margaret MacDonald (Mackintosh’s wife). Ziva used MacDonald’s wonderful geometric patterns (she was well-known for them) and interpreted them in bright colors.
They are some of my favorite designers and I love their combination of geometric squares with stylized florals. If you aren’t familiar with them by name, you’ll probably recognize the extremely high-backed Mackintosh chairs as well as the lovely and popular Mackintosh rose.
Designed to be a hatband, you can stitch this narrow design in your choice of colors and make it into all kinds of items, such a picture frames, napkin rings, basket bands, and more.

I also want to give credit to where I found out about this free design which was at the Nuts About Needlepoint blog. […]
