I know it’s well past Valentine’s Day, but hearts are a popular motif throughout the year. This plastic canvas box could make a great centerpiece at a bridal shower, a special container for an anniversary present, or a wonderful “I Love You” gift.
The pattern is free and comes in three different sizes. There is no reason why your top needs to be stitched in Tent. You could make textured stitches, add beads or buttons, or even make a springtime box by using silk flowers and Silk Ribbon Embroidery techniques.
The design is from Rebecca at the blog Hugs Are Fun! The illustrated tutorial puts lots of emphasis on construction and has the link to the free PDF pattern at the bottom of the post.
