A new artist for Kate Dickerson is Rebecca Jones. Two of her canvases feature llamas. One has a cactus on its back and is ready for a fiesta. The other is ornament-bedecked and has Santa riding him. Artist Carolyn Gavin has a bright canvas with a striped dove of peace with flowers in both 13 and 18 mesh. Kate also has a new Chanel glasses case and a new fishnet bunny brick cover in bright pink. Some of Kate’s earliest canvases featured Pucci-style prints. She’s put several of them as patchwork in a bright gusseted purse.
Kirkland Designs is introducing a painted canvas line. With several great sayings including “gone for sweet tea” and “ she’s whisky in a teacup.” KCN designs has a set of three paper-cut style rounds with pairs of birds, foxes, mice, or rabbits. There are plenty of great sayings and witty rounds. The retriever dogs filling wine glasses are great!
I am totally in love with the charming saints from Love You More’s licensed artist, Ivona Staszewski; they are always so sweet. Her two newest are St. Bernadette and St. Catherine of Siena. I have a friend writing a book with a chapter on her, so this is very tempting. There are many other great Love You More Canvases, including a complex Halloween scene in silhouette in just orange and black it’s vintage-inspired and would make a great decoration.
For Christmas, they have a beautiful nativity with Bethlehem as the background. Another great canvas has Santa, and other figures in Russian nesting dolls shapes in a Mid-century folk art style. In the same style is a square with four red and gold ornaments on green. They have many new beach and ocean-themed canvases as well as a series of ornaments featuring hedgehogs., snowmen, or gnomes.
Mindy has charming new seasonal 2” squares. You can also buy a cardboard frame for them. There is also a dear 4” round with simple round flowers above a black-and-white pattern with hearts and colored square accents. Madeline Elizabeth has several new glasses cases, including one with birch trees on one side and delicate flowers on the other. Unlike many other cases, these designs don’t really have a front or back. Another new canvas from this designer has the NYC skyline against a lovely sunset sky.
Melissa Prince always has so many delightful designs. She has expanded her collection of dogs with flower wreaths and her movie and TV coasters. New movie coasters include Star Trek, Les Miz, and Dial M for Murder. A new series of 4” squares are six sea creatures. They are similar in style to her abstract animal rounds but in narrower color schemes. There is a lovely Golden Letter series of 4” squares. The letter is in gold, but each square has as its focus something beginning with that letter, including a hummingbird and a lighthouse on a cliff.
New canvases from Maggie Co. include vintage ladies doing several activities: sipping soda, riding in a toy airplane, and standing in front of a retro trailer. An unusual and striking canvas shows Canada Geese and hummingbirds migrating together. Barrista is a fun canvas of Sloth’s Espresso Bar – you can guess who picked up the coffee (not that it would help). She also has some really colorful animals, including “Mardi Gras Chicken” and “Toadaly Beautiful.”
Planet Earth has two new leather bags: a flat clutch and a shoulder bag; both are available in black only. They have expanded their color selection for the round silk cases and the luggage tags. A new color for the luggage tag and the self-finishing square box is orange. Their single-strand silk has three new pale to light true blues added to the colors.
Kreinik has a sneak peek at a new color – Camo. It’s a mix of white, gold, and olive. They are recommending it for backgrounds. They also have their real metal paiettes (flat sequins) back in stock. They are available in silver or gold in four sizes. Kirkland Designs makes great magnetic needle minders. They have introduced a wonderful planner that functions as both a calendar and a needlepoint planner. Pages can easily be added and removed to personalize your book.
