Another great self-finishing item from Lee is their photo album. The leather box has a charming satin ribbon tie for the closure and is available in three colors. It holds a 4″ square canvas. The boxincludes a thin sheet of acrylic to protect the needlepoint. The overall sozeof the boxis 9.75″ square and 2.25″ deep. You can get it in white and black as well as red.
Inside you’ll find a three-ring binder and several pages to hold photos.
It’s incredibly easy to finish. Here’s how:
- Open up the box by working from the back. Move the tabs and remove the back and the acrylic cover.
- You’ll notice that there is a lip around the opening. It’s 3/8′ wide. To keep your 4″ square needlepoint stable in place, cut it with 3/8′ of unstitched canvas around your stitching.
- Place the acrylic, then the needlepoint, then the back. Close the tabs and you’re ready to go.
Because this photo album uses a 4″ square needlepoint, many ornaments, including the Princess & Me Golden Gate Bridge ornament pictured above, you might have the perfect inset alredy stitched in your stash.
I love the elegant look of this box. The red color is rich and the satin ribbons are a nice touch. i’m not sure if the picture pages are a standard size but I think they are. This mreans you could easily customize this for other uses. I’m thinkiung that a collection of baseball cards with a favorite-team needlepoint in the front would be a great gift.
