Every day I hear about more great new needlepoint products. I keep finding exciting items to try.
Morgan Julia will soon be having her canvases appearing in your LNS. She has a new Christmas version of her popular bar cart. Another new Morgan Julia canvas is Eggs Benedict, complete with a runny egg yolk. I have this one on my must-get list. Kelly Clark has new outlined rabbits available in several colors and in either quatrefoil or houndstooth patterns. Danji has a huge series of bells. Many of these are musical with pictures and titles of popular carols. Religious or secular carols, you’ll find great designs here. Also new is a series of triangular Santas, each in a different geometric pattern.
A Stitch in Time has several new floral canvases, including a lovely bouquet of sunflowers in a glass vase. Also new in the pyramids is a pile of Jack o’Lanterns for Halloween and a stack of stocking caps. The stocking caps are also available as individual canvases. Ziggy Stitches, part of Stitch Rock, has a cool 3-D Cheez-Its box. Renaissance has several canvases in the pastel palette of last year’s Christmas trees. These include another trees canvas with a patchwork tree in the center as well as a canvas featuring ornaments. They also have three new series of round ornaments, one of bears, one featuring snowmen, and a third with the most adorable mice.
CBK has some simple graphic designs on patterned backgrounds. There are also three lovely dragonfly canvases, including one with an oriental background. A canvas with several fleurs-de-lis in black and burgundy is a striking canvas from the company. A canvas with a dark background has 24 hedgehogs in graphic patterns. Another canvas features a variety of fishing lures. A lovely CBK quilt-inspired canvas uses the classic scallop shell pattern. j. Child has an adrable red-and-white birdhouse available as a mini-sock and as a round. She also has new baby sleeping signs, including one for twins or triplets.
Madeline Elizabeth has lots of new sayings and a cheeky bear-in-the-woods canvas. Kangaroo Paw has lots of new 2×3 inserts including several that features drinks with dotted or striped backgrounds. The dots are in several colors on the same canvas so you can stitch now and pick the accessory later. WIPstitch has belts for several different colleges. Doolittle Stitchery has a lovely beach collage canvas on 13 mesh. Quail Run has a new series of Christmas cookies with simple decortions. They also have a series of geometric Christmas trees in shaded greens. Kangaroo Paw has increased the number of collegiate spirit hearts to 30 schools from the initial 3.
New from Raymond Crawford is a bag front featuring lipstick. He also has bow canvases available in red on white, or white on blue. He has three large letters, spelling JoY, each full of Christmas goodies on a pine needle background. Taking a cue from Andy Warhol, Raymond has a pop art Lady Liberty, available in four color combinations. He also has new canvases in his Broadway series. Finally, his popular finials are available in a new color combination of pink and green.
Tout le Monde has trug baskets with your choice of hydrangeas in pink or blue. Tapestry Fair has a stunning tribal mask of a lion with an elaborate feather mane. It’s available on either 13 or 18 mesh. Salty Stitcher has a series of 12 Days rounds. They also have new signs. Deux Amis has a nativity oval series with six lovely designs available.
Patti Mann has peace and love canvases in psychedelic colors. She also has a lovely two-sided glasses cases with a mountain landscape. Another glasses case has sunflowers on one side and a line sampler with bees on the other. These join lots oof other new tw-sided cases. Patti Mann hs two new colorful and patterned fish on rich red backgrounds. She has an adorable squirrel scissors case.
If you like the lovely Tapestry Fair rose, you’ll be delighted to find that they now have it available in pastel colors. A charming canvas is a creche scene with cats as all the characters. Also new are a couple of silly Christmas penguin rounds. As always, Princess & Me has plenty of great new ornaments. A pretty menorah is available in pink or blue to make for a baby. There is a delightful canvas called Bethleham city. Best of all is a new series of rectangular month canvases. Each one has the month’s name surrounded by items typical of the month. Because every one has a different color scheme, it would be great to make one for everyone in the family.
Ann Kaye, a new designer from Maine, has coasters and rounds with maps of several New England islands. She also has a series of sporty Santas with Santa playing fiften different sports. She also has several sayings. Evelyn Designs, another new designer, has transit maps for several cities, including Chicago and Boston. She also has a penny round and “In Gold We Trust” dollar bill. Laura Love has a new series of seed packet canvases for vegetables joining her existing series of flower seed packets.
Alice & Blue has a serval new canvases in a modern semi-abtract style. Most of these are landscapes. She also has a new realistic canvas of a stack of pumpkins in unusual colors. Rachel Donley has new monogram rounds, including a jeep where the monogram goes on the spare tire cover. She also has eight new topiaries as well as new greetings and letters envelopes. Lauren Bloch has lots of new dog & cat canvases, including one that is a fun take on the painting American Gothic. She also has a new set of rounds in traditional Christmas colors with geometric patterns in stripes.
