There is a needlework Market coming up in a couple of weeks. While this market is much bigger for knitting and crochet than it is for needlepoint, there are still some great new products coming out around this time. Be sure to look for them in your local shop over the next few weeks.
Canvases, Kits, & Charts
Burnett & Bradley (formerly A Collection of Designs) has lots of great new pieces out including a tropical fish series in bright pastels. They also have lovely jeweled snowflakes. Their sister company, Kirk & Bradley, has new holiday balloons in their Hot Air balloons series.
Labors of Love is making a new size of needlepoint stocking canvases they call mid-range. They are on 13-mesh canvas and are 21″ tall. Lacis is now distributing Grafitec canvases, silk-screened canvases from Europe. & More has added a second set of canvases to their perpetual calendar. These designs are more feminine with light colors and elaborate borders.
Susan Roberts has a new line of key fob canvases. The designs are 1×7 on 18-mesh canvas. There are over 15 designs available. Leigh is adding a series of coasters to the Crown Jewels series as well as some new seaside Santas. Kelly Clark has added a new basket kit to her Tiny Basket Collection. This one is a sewing basket. It’s just too cute and I’ll be blog stitching it later this year.
Kate Dickerson has a new line of inserts designed for the Lee leather products. JulieMar has a cute line of gingerbread house rounds where the house is decorated for different holidays — not just Christmas.
I am in love with the new kits from Just Another Button Company, called “NeedlePrint & Play.” The designs are on perforated paper with printed backgrounds and initials. The stitcher adds a border and decoration. Also on perforated paper is Handblessing’s free pattern promotion, Bells of the Month. There is an optional charm pack available.
Threads, Accessories, & More
Yarn Barn is making printed limited edition replacement clamps for Q-Snaps. They are available in 6″, 8″, 11″, and 17″. Use them instead of the plain sides.
Sampler Threads from The Gentle Art has three new floss colors: Green with Envy, French Lilac, and Rag Doll. They also have two new limited edition colors: Whiskers and Pea Soup. Rag Doll and Driftwood have also been added to the wool colors.
Valdani has added two colors to their wool threads: Golden Earth and Dark Chocolate. Thread Gatherer has five new colors in Silk ribbons, silk pearl, and stranded silk: Blood Moon Rising, Morning on the Seine, Lavender Fields, Portiere Green, and Lizards & Limes.
&More has two new threads. Maine Line is 100% wool on 30-yard cards. One strand works on 18 mesh but can be used on 13. It comes in 50 colors. Kelly Clark has teamed up with Presencia and selected six colors of floss for packaged collections for Christmas and Halloween. There are three skeins of each color in the package.
Kate Dickerson has added magnets to her line with designs taken from her letter series, her Herend-style bunnies and many other designs in her collection.
