I thought I had covered all the new products this Fall, but then I got emails and paper mails with more new stuff. Here’s a summary of more great new needlepoint.
Deux Amis introduced lots of new needlepoint brick covers. I love the way several of them evoke other styles of needlework, including medieval tapestry and crewel. You’ll find one to fit any style in this collection. &more is now doing lovely custom monograms on their signature striped background. Any color combination can be ordered. Another new design is a frame for your annual family Christmas picture. They also have a delightful Christmas stocking canvas that has all of the reindeer’s names in script on a striped background. A fun stocking is from Sew Much Fun! It has four dressed up owls in the branches of a Scandinavian-style tree.
Chris Lewis Distributing has a charming single ornament canvas that makes up into a 3-D ball ornament. It has “noel,” “joy.” and “peace” around the center. Judi & Co has a simple but dramatic rock star canvas for the diva in your life. Griffin Designs has an ornament round of Santa exasperated because his Goldendoodle has stolen his hat. Meredith Collection has a cute and different look at holiday wreaths in a series of five small (5×7) canvases. They show an appropriate wreath but with feet jumping through — almost as if the elf, bunny, or reindeer got stuck. Another one, for Halloween, has a with who has fallen through. We see her bloomers and flailing feet in the center of the wreath.
Gone Stitching has added to their painted canvases with a new line GSK Canva Line. Among the offerings are mini-socks with simple designs in bright colors. There’s a pair of crossed candy canes, an old-fashioned candlestick, glasses, and colorful stripes. Mill Hill’s newest perforated paper kits include a lovely series of six snowflakes in silver and gold. Just Another Button Company has new holiday-themed perforated paper kits too.
To this line of mini kits with frames, Patrica Sone has added single initials. Not all letters are available at this time. Kelly Clark’s newest collection is called “Sweet Treats” and includes a series of Christmas trees and nutcrackers. Voila has a line of 6″ square kids kits on 7-mesh canvas. There are 22 designs in the Kidz Kitz series. Madeline Elizabeth’s colorblock rhino canvas has a stitch guide from Laura Taylor coming soon. Pepperberry has added two gender-neutral colors, pastel green and lavender, to their baby’s first Christmas mittens.
It’s Sew Emma has charming new bobbins for threads that are made from sturdy plastic. For cross stitch lovers, Kelly Clark’s monthly Santas are now available as cross stitch charts. The corner stabilizer FrameLok has introduced some new colors for winter. Because stores cannot order specific colors, you’ll need to check your LNS for them.
A neat new accessory is the Bead Bed. It’s a compact beading try that has both adhesive sheets and a magnetic pillow. It comes in a compact case. Joseph’s Workshop has branched out with kits to m=stitch your own ornaments. The kits include wood shapes with a grid of holes to make your own decoration. Not for stitching, they also have a lovely laser-cut nativity ornament.
