Lately I’ve been using Pepper Pot Silk often. And just as often, I have little fits when I need to open a skein. Thanks to this little video from KC Needlepoint, I now know a great trick for opening the skein.
Depending on how you treat your thread after the skein is cut, you may want to make some changes. If you will be putting your thread in Flossaway bags, as I do, it’s best to cut the skein before you open it completely. If you use thread drops, transfer the label’s information to the drop and don’t thread you cut strands through the label; put them on the drop instead.
