My mom always hated Christmas & Ester vacations because they were too short for my brother and me to get into a vacation routine and we were out of school at the same time. I am sure that moms everywhere are having those same thoughts about now. If you don’t have kids, you may be thinking you want some quick projects.
These plastic canvas coasters, a free pattern from Homeschooling Hearts & Minds, answers both these desires. The project is easy for kids to stitch. It’s also fast so those needing quick projects can make these.
It uses 7-count plastic canvas and worsted-weight knitting yarn. If you want to make these machine-washable be sure your yarn is washable. If you have a different count of plastic canvas available, cut the 5″ squares and adjust the yarn or thread to fit the canvas.
The illustrated shows Alternating Scotch, but you can use any stitch and even make these as samples of different stitches. It’s such a great idea! Thanks to Craft Gossip for finding this.
