As long as your purse or tote has a flap that free of pockets or embellishments, you can personalize it using your leftover thread.
This wonderful tutorial from Sincerely, Kinsey (a shout-out to Brit + Co for finding it) just needs a purse,
Start by finding threads you like and making twisted cords from them, so you need fewer of them and the colors are better defined.
Arrange the cords and cut them to about the correct length.
Cover the purse flap with glue and attach.
Trim the ends and go.
The tutorial ends here but I would glue on a wider folded trim to make the edges more finished and sturdy.
