This Alice Peterson ornament’s bold colors mean that any background should be in a more muted color to allow them to shine. I’m stitching it using an overdyed Vineyard Silk from Threadworx. I was intrgued by some stitches I saw on the Poppy Monk site and decided to stitch the background in Vertical Elongated Diagonal Cashmer, below. The subtle overdye keeps it rom looking too flat.
