Background Ideas: Exploded Little V’s

I like the Little V’s of Alternating Little V’s because they remind me of the flying birds kids draw.

For this mini ornament from Hummingbird house (distributed by Danji) I wanted something a bit more open. I thought it would be very nice if I exploded the stitch by putting an open thread around each V. Thus you get Exploding Little V’s, below. It was stitched in one of Kreinik’s whites. I finished it in a Studio Decor ornament frame.
