Corrections: I mistakenly identified the new National Park rounds and animal heads with scarves as being from BB Designs. They are actually from Burnett & Bradley. Right initials, wrong company. The Three Strawberries and Five Pears canvases and guides are from Sundance.
Little Shoppe has a couple of very cool funky heart pillows that are full of pattern in several shades of pink. Patti Mann has added lots of canvases, including great beach scenes, and a couple of wintry scenes from her licensed artists. Leigh’s great new tissue box covers include a wonderful Chinese dragon and a patriotic design as well as several that take elements from several of her other popular design series.
In addition to their great ski resort squares and rounds, Doolittle has a new Pucci-inspired canvas that features 60’s citrus colors with black. Abigail Cecile has added an ornament-sized round of her Rooftops of Paris canvas to her line. Sandra Gilmore has added a kitchen scene to her canvases of rooms. It features jadite cabinets and a very fancy stove along with lots of dishes on open shelves. My kitchen should look so good!
Canvas Art by Barbi has lots of new designs for the rectangular leather snap trays from Lee. They include initials on patterned backgrounds, patchwork painted stitches, and single words as well as other designs. These bright canvases in a tray would make great and quick-to-finish gifts. JP Needlepoint has a glorious lion whose main is composed of colorful painted stitches. They also have a Christmas canvas of a classic VW Beetle completely surrounded by wrapped packages. A new addition to their funky animals series, the newest has colorful dogs in costume ready to trick or treat.
JulieMar has loads of new designs from their artists, including lovely new Caribbean women in colorful clothes. The canvas have either a single woman or groups. There is also a realistic Autumn wreath embellished with a scarecrow. Wiinetka has several great new sayings, including some in the iconic “Keep Calm” style. Though not in this style, my favorite says “Drink Tea and Read Books” — advice I take to heart.
Needledeeva has four new ladies canvases, three of them in hats. Strictly Christmas has a new series of nautical ornaments. You’ll find a lighthouse, compasses, an anchor, and a ship’s wheel; all adorned with red bows and Christmas greens. Jean Smith has two lovely flower ball topiaries with blue-and-white pots. Penny Macleod has a patchwork heart that’s full of her great patterns. Because it’s stitch-painted, it’s good for any level of stitcher. I also loved her oversized sunflower with orange petals and a yellow center on black.
In addition to all their other great canvases, Pepperberry has a Santa tree skirt. Renaissance also has a new tree skirt with snowmen. Both of these look sized for tabletop trees so they are not the huge commitment of a full-sized skirt. Labors of Love has added new bells including four nativity bells: the Holy Family, an angel, the three Wise Men, and a shepherd and sheep.
The Meredith Collection has a new canvas with a show jumping course. It’s delightful and unusual. In addition, several of the popular Charley Harper canvases are available as ornaments. My favorite is the one of the kitty behind the fishbowl. Not only is New Orleans represented in their realistic city street scenes, but they also have ones of Paris and New York. Related to these a look at a Japanese garden full of colorful autumn trees. Because the areas of color are large and without detail, this canvas would be great for textured stitches.
Point to Point has a new finishing item with new canvases — wine bottle totes! Included in the designs for these are a series of Judaic canvases as well as wine-themed designs. CBK has new sayings and a new series of sea-themed silhouettes that are white on striped backgrounds. They also have adorable Christmas birds and a wonderful new French bulldog with a pink rose in his mouth. There are also new Scott Church designs, as well as designs from their other artists. These include a black Lab in goggles driving a sleigh, no doubt too fast.
Painted Pony has an absolutely wonderful series of martini canvases, with several different designs, such as Sour Apple and Pink Lady, on black in a retro style. There is also a canvas with three of the drinks and the “One Martini, Two Martini . . .” saying on it. Raymond Crawford has a new wreath that instead of ornaments has glasses of wine, bread, and cheese. It’s a delightfully different canvas for wine lovers.
Zecca has a new Autumn leaves canvas in their modern style, with large leaves almost filling the canvas. There is also a pumpkin and leaves canvas where the off-center fruit pairs with a light blue sky. The Collection has a new, highly detailed Sailor’s Valentine canvas with a Nantucket basket in the center. They also have a very pretty Nantucket basket full of holly as well as lots of small hearts in different patterns. These could be a great start for a Valentine’s tree or display.
Deux Amis has loads of hearts and mini hearts. I wish I had time to stitch them all! Ewe and Eye has new postcards by Denise DeRusha as well as a great new sampler of small folk art icons in a color palette that will work well with chalk paint and country antiques.
Both JP Needlepoint and Robbyn’s Nest have new canvases that featured buildings with Russian onion domes. The JP canvas is in jewel tones, while the Robbyn’s Nest canvas is in muted colors. Rachel Donley has a new envelope canvas. Addressed to “My Love,” it’s perfect for your sweetheart. A Poore Girl Paints has added three New Year’s Eve rounds to their line, along with one that reminds us to “Eat Dessert First.” Raymond Crawford has a bunch of canvases that have the characters from Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer on them, expanding this series.
