Stitch Style has three new canvases, a Boston Commons travel round, a black lab holding a Jack o’Lantern treat bucket, and an apple picking round. KCN has new destination hearts for several cities in the US and abroad. Unwind Studion, a European designer, has five new Christmas ornament kits from their artists Álex Rosa and Claire Iglesias. The ornaments are just over 4″ round and are printed canvas on 13 mesh.
If you like the Christmas Vacation movie, you’ll love Stitch Rock’s new rounds. A line from the movie is on each of the four ornaments. NPJ has added solid-color mini-socks to their line. Like the popular Christmas lights, these come in different colors and are designed to showcase stitches. With a white top, you could personalize them, show off a fuzzy thread, or show off a second stitch. Viva Ziva (an online designer) has new pillow designs based on the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The company will soon be introducing canvases based on Gaudi’s La Sangarda Familia Basilica in Barcelona.
Zecca has a wonderful new canvas called “The Nile.” It has a curvy stream running through it, with three goldfish swimming and lotus blossoms on the shore. Another great canvas is a botanical bell pull. The designer also has new animals in a more delicate, but still whimsical, style. Fire and Iris has a new tarot card collection. It’s a collaboration between Fire and Iris, Evergreen Needlepoint, Saturnalia Stitching, Spellbound Stitchery, and Ad Astra Stitching. Some of the 3.75×2.75 canvases feature elements; others feature tarot arcana.
There are so many great new canvases from The Meredith Collection I hardly know where to begin. A new series has food (and drink) trucks, with 15 in all. The 5″ rounds also have a ton of food truck items to go with the trucks that are 4″ rounds. With everything from poke bowls to hot sauce bottles, these will be great with the food trucks or by themselves. I love the four new luggage stacks, some for specific trips, like a ski trip. There are also new stocking cuffs, new Charlie Harper ornament rounds, and new North Pole character rounds.
Jean Smith has three new canvases of orchids in a jungle setting. She also has lovely canvases of animals combined with planets. New from Kate Dickerson are inserts in several sizes and colors with a bee on a wide stripe. She also has many lovely new hearts in different patterns, including argyles, plaids, and woven ribbons. Another woven ribbon canvas is for Easter with pastel colors and a ribbon of white bunnies. There are lovely new canvases from her licensed artists including plenty of charming flowers and animals. She also has a baker’s dozen of new designs for Planet Earth key fobs.
Danji has new candy canes, for different countries. There are also new needlepoint frames for different sports. A series of four rounds remind me of 1950s and 1960s Christmas cards. An adorable set of gnomes is available as stand-ups or candy canes. The company has six Christmas sweaters that come with hangers for finishing. Finally, they have two new Frank Lloyd Wright window canvases. Susan Roberts has new Santa stockings, lots of new nutcrackers, and a cube ornament with four snowman faces. Also from Susan Roberts are four new 2.5″ round ornaments; they will fit in many ornament frames. A new march canvas is “Under the Sea March” with three mermaids and a deep sea diver.
Ridgewood Needlepoint is making custom frame weights. You bring your fabric, let them know the lettering style you want, and pick your saying; they do the rest. Several shops are stocking frame weights made from vintage Hermes scarves, but I don’t know who makes them. Victoria Whitson has new scissors in bright colors that come with matching sheaths and braided fobs.
